Professor Apostolellis is a very nice man himself. He was very open to all questions, and kept the class environment upbeat and light. However, I am not sure if he was very effective in teaching computer science. There was a lot I learned from my own textbook readings and my friends than from his lectures, and the 1111 tests were stressful as we had to handwrite all code. This, however, I think is more the nature of the course rather than the professor. Overall, he was nice and fair in grading, and was always patient and ready to help students.
This class is definitly interesting and can vary depending on the level of programming you have. I came in with a lot of programming, so I was slighty bored, but for people who didn't know the content the class was pretty nice. The professor has slides he goes over, but also has these questions that students have to solve on their computer. He geninuely wants students to learn, so he tries to get you to actually do it on your own, and he says the content is better then the grade. Speaking of the grade, it's not hard to get an A on all of the assignments, as most of them take almost no time, but the exams are mild, not super hard but not free like the class. Overall would recommend the class if you had to take one, less boring then the general ones.
