This class was challenging, but rewarding. We started with drawing still lifes in class, and then moved on to drawing models. We had four homework assignments - a night drawing, a self portrait, and two "research" drawings. The night drawing had the most parameters - 18" x 24" charcoal drawing of an outdoor scene at night. In contrast, the self portrait and research drawings were very open-ended. Prof. Taylor allowed us to use any medium (including digital, performance, paint, etc), and basically make whatever we wanted. The crits tended to be long and we never finished in one class period. Everyone is allowed three absences, but if you miss any more than that Prof. Taylor will fail you if you don't talk to him about it in advance. Overall, I appreciated how we were allowed to explore anything for the last 3 assignments and I learned a lot in class through the drawing challenges. #tCFfall22
