Taking this class online had its pros and cons, given they dramatically restructured the course. Basically, everyone is in "pods" of 5-6 students who watch prerecorded lectures and work on the problem sets together. Then, they have a meeting with a TA who grades their problem set. Finally, there's a short writeup of one of the problems at the end of each week. Although the grading is easier since there's no tests and it's group work, it's still a good bit of time since you have to watch the lectures, work on the problem set, discuss it, and then get it graded.
The main challenge in this course is that the TAs aren't really well informed. You could tell that the TAs didn't know exactly how to solve all the problems, which is important since this is the only faculty feedback you get during the whole class.

This class was super interesting and had a very reasonable workload. I took this class alongside 2150/DLD which worked great because they cover a lot of the same material so this class offered a sort of theory background to the things I was learning in other classes. This semester the class worked in "cohorts" so basically most of the work was done with other people. At times this was great, but I could see this class being pretty annoying if your cohort members slacked a lot of the time. They said the majority of the class got an A so definitely not too hard of a class, definitely recommend taking it.

I learned absolutely nothing during this course! The material is dryer than oven-baked cat litter. A solid waste of time. Also the professor said something racist apparently. Its easy enough to kinda-sorta do the problems and get through the weekly assessments, but I have never wanted to ram my head through a wall more than while trying to learn the material in this class.
