If you're interested in contract law, patent law, etc, then definitely take this class. Sherri Moore is an amazing teacher and I highly recommend taking a class with her. However, if you're taking the class because you expect it to be as interesting as Comm1, it might be different than you expect. The material is definitely drier than that of Comm law 1. However, we still get cheat sheets on tests so they're not that bad.
Professor Moore is probably the best professor I have had at UVA. I took Comm Law I in the fall and really enjoyed, so it was a no-brainer to take this class. It was different material (more business related than Comm Law I), but I really enjoyed both classes. You get a cheat sheet for each exam, and you can pretty much get all your notes on the cheat sheet if you format it correctly. I definitely recommend taking this class. I wish there were more classes I can take with her.
Sherri Moore is the best professor at the University of Virginia. I was actually sad to finish this class after having taken comm law for an entire year. It is definitely a worthwhile class, no matter what your major is and how little background knowledge you have on the subject. This is just a practical class and applicable to everyday life. Multiple choice tests and you can use cheat sheets. Take the class, you'll thank me later.
Professor Moore is good. Really good. I took Comm Law I in Fall 2015, loved the class so much, and decided to take Comm Law II to make interesting my otherwise tedious schedule. The format's generally the same as Comm Law II - 2 midterms, finals, and 5 instead of weekly quizzes. Prof Moore really knows her stuff and her lecture's just interesting to listen to. I found the finals harder than the midterms, but as long as you go for class, take notes religiously, and make good cheatsheets you're good to go.
If you've taken Comm Law I, then you already know that Sherri is the coolest professor at UVa, so I won't waste my time with that sales pitch. The topics in this class are more in depth than in Comm Law I and whereas Comm Law I focused on some constitutional and criminal law in the beginning of the course, this course focuses exclusively on the commercial aspect of the law. The breakdown for my class included two midterms worth 20% each, a final worth 50%, and a case study that made up the remaining 10%. This class is definitely worth it.
So you already know Sherri is amazing if you are this far and have taken Comm law I, but I will say this class was definitely not on the same level as Comm law I. For me a lot of this was due to the nature of the material. This class really focused on business law (which should be expected given the class name) whereas comm law I was much more general. I found this a lot less interesting, but Sherri of course made it worth it everyday all the same. Class structure is similar to Comm law I, 5 quizzes, 2 tests, 1 final although the final is only 40% instead of the 50% it was in comm law I. Overall, I did feel like I learned a lot even though I wasn't that interested in the material and this is a great class to take the work load off as it is an easy A- w/no outside work. If you want the A it is very doable you have to just put in the work studying the day before each exam.
This class is actually business law, and as expected the material is more dry. However, if you are even thinking about entering the business world or especially if you want to maybe start your own business one day, this class is for you. Or if you want an extremely easy A- with little effort besides taking good notes/A if you study hard the day before a test/final, then this is for you too. Overall, I would say it is easier than COMM Law 1 because she lets you type cheat sheets, and for the second test she let us have 3 typed sheets. And there are no quizzes anymore, rather somewhat easy and interesting case studies.
Overall, it's another class taught by Sherri Moore so obviously you should take it.
