I love Professor Buckelew. She is really knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches and it was so informative to learn about UVA's history with race and racism. It gives me so much perspective, I feel like everyone should have to take a course about this history of UVA's. She's super kind and understanding, especially about absences she is very respectful and doesn't require you to disclose why you were absent. She also brought in a bunch of guest speakers with backgrounds in social justice organizing as we as a class got more interesting in the topic. She really encourages her students to be the change they want to see.
