Well, this was the first year that the ChemE’s had to take Pchem with College Chem kids, so that was an interesting dynamic. Professor Gahlman is better at explaining things than Professor Metcalf, or so I’ve heard, but Metcalf makes the tests, so he often gives his class hints of what will be on the test. I stopped going to class after a while because it was a 9am and it was getting cold, so my body was not feeling it. Contrary to expectations, my grade went up. Going to class really didn’t help me understand anything, but since I went to class, I didn’t read the book. Not going to class forced me to read the book which helped me understand the material way more. Also, GO TO DISCUSSION. Very few people go, but the TA’s are super helpful with take home exams.
Key to getting a good grade: if you’re a chemE, work with a Chem kid on the HW’s. They’ll get the conceptual and you’ll get the math parts. Go to discussion for help on the take homes.
