Gerrans is an awesome professor. He explains the subject matter very lucidly and his analogies are very useful. It's sad he's retiring :'(

Great class, Gerrans is who you want. Can be boring at times but he's very helpful and accessible.

Dr. Gerrans is just wonderful. He is the best among three intro CHEM teachers. His quizzes are easy if you know your material (book). His lectures are clear. He is really nice like a grandfather and patient. DO TAKE HIS CLASS if you are premed!! =)

Great teacher. He brings in models to explain topics. Make sure to read the chapters before he covers it in class.

Easy as balls, as long as you stay on top of the reading the book and doing all the recommended problems. Hard if you slack off and don't read until days before the quiz. Tricky quizes, so you have to know everything covered in book. Lectures useless but important to go to just to get exposed to the material. Loved the class, an A is definitely possible if you manage time well. I will hopefully get either an A,A-, or B+ depending on final, and I kinda slacked off in the beginning, just to give you a perspective.

Read, takes notes. Quizzes are sometimes tricky. Attend the recitations before quizzes, they actually help.

It's chemistry, so it can't be but so much fun. I love his accent so it makes the class a bit easier. Some of his lectures seem to drag on, but overall I would recommend him because I did learn a lot and he tries to answer any questions after class.
