Professor Carta may be the best overall professor in our department. His train of thought is very logical and easy to follow. The work can be a bit challenging at times later in the class, but for the most part is pretty straightforward. I liked how most of the problems seemed very "real world applicable" and felt meaningful. Carta (and this class) is the reason why you want to be a Chemical Engineer.

Carta is a great teacher and his class is really well structured. Grading is really fair.
This class is difficult, which should serve as a heads-up if you intend to become a ChE major, because it is the easiest CHE class available. However, difficulty aside, it was very enjoyable and actually kind of fun at times. Watch out for the group project, though. It's tough, so don't wait until the last minute to get started.
good professor, easy HWs, reasonable tests. Timing is a big factor in the test
This was a great class. Professor Carta knows how to teach it too! Go to lecture and make some friends because homeworks are a lot easier when you work on them with others. Make sure you know this stuff because it will help you forever!
Problem sets are very time consuming; tests test your ability to work under a HUGE time pressure; biggest complaint with Carta is that in the beginning of the class he did a lot of examples, while towards the end of the class he did relatively few. there is a group project but it's easy and boosts your grade
Great class and great intro to ChemE. Tough but manageable if you stay on top of things.
Horrible class. Maybe its just me but I fail to see the point of a class that emphasizes "test-taking strategies". Principles in this class are child's play.Problem sets and the final exam are not.
Carta is a great professor and makes this class great. It is a great intro course to Chemical Engineering and builds a strong base for future classes.
