I took this course with Professor Trella and absolutely loved it. This course gives an overview of archaeology, from its history to its practices to its branches/subdivisions and how it applies today. I found the lectures engaging, and Prof Trella is a really nice, approachable guy who will be happy to answer any questions you might have. As long as you do the readings and pay attention in class, you'll do fine. The readings could be a bit long and some were boring, but most were fine and some were (in my opinion) very interesting, so it balances out. He gives a few quizzes, all of which are straightforward, and gives you study guides that really help you to know exactly what to expect, so they weren't hard. The midterm and exam were also very reasonable in my opinion. My TA was Jenn, and she was also very nice and engaging in our weekly discussions. Overall, if you're interested in archaeology as a career or just in the topic in general, I'd definitely recommend this class.
