this class is really interesting and i really felt like i learned a lot. when it comes to the tests however, the professor wants the EXACT answer. she gives partial credit, but not much. just make sure you know the main points of each article and read them on time! definitely read the articles before class because she gives surprise reading checks. they aren't very difficult if you have read.

great topic and professor. readings were a bit extensive and repetitive but overall great class.

She was a sweet teacher, but lectures were not always the most interesting in the world. I enjoy the topic, so I really enjoyed the class, but if you don't-- it may be boring. A fair amount of reading.

although the subject of the class is really interesting, Contino-Morava can almost make this class really boring. the subject is cool but you could easily just google most of the stuff, but if youre looking for an easy class then take it

Lots of reading but very very interesting. She knows the material well and is a sweetheart. The tests ares straight from the "study guides" she gives out

I've heard it's a difficult class from some people, but as long as you do the readings and go to lecture you'll be fine on the exams, which determine your grade (and go to discussion). Your grade reflects the work you put into the class.

Class was alright. Not too difficult if you did the reading and attended lecture. In lecture you basically emphasized one thing from the readings, and it helps to do the reading before going to class. Discussion sections were useless and boring but thats pretty typical, no? Readings could be very interesting, or not at all, hit or miss. I would recommend the course. Maybe not an easy A, but easy B plus, A minus, or A.
