Dr. Gibson really put a lot of thought into designing this course. She included easy-to-learn coding experience (in R) and chose papers that were accessible to non-experts. The final project allowed a lot of freedom and although it was a lot of work, you were able to choose something that interested you. Dr. Gibson is also really fun and nice.

Evolution and Ecology of Infectious Disease was interesting! Prof Gibson was very enthusiastic and engaging as an instructor, you could tell she really cared about the material which was nice. There was a weekly mini quiz on a research paper, weekly posting of discussion questions for another paper, a presentation of a paper, and a final project where you plan an experiment and paper.
