Fantastic class (Designing a Carbon Neutral Future) that was engaging and very informative. Lectures could have been better but we went on tours (early access to Shannon Library!) and had very cool guest speakers often, work was not as time-consuming and was honestly fun to do as well. Final project was stressful and wasn't as streamlined/consistent for all groups and that showed but overall worthwhile course. Professor Heil is also a great guy!

Designing a Carbon Neutral Future was an interesting course on ways to reduce the impact of climate change. Each week consisted of 2-3 short readings, an hour lecture from Heil, and an hour-long guest speaker. The guest speakers were a highlight of the class. Sometimes the two-hour class period dragged on, but it only met once a week. There were five individual assignments that involved minor research, math, and writing, but they were not difficult. Throughout the semester, you worked with a small group on a creating a carbon neutral plan for some part of the University. The project was interesting but its difficulty depended a lot on which area of the University your group chose.
