This was an amazing class! You only write two papers and take a midterm, but Tolczyk is an excellent lecturer. Reading really isn't necessary, but a great supplement to class. Missing a class or two won't kill you either, but I definitely recommend going because it's so interesting!

I took this class to fill the humanities requirement. I would discourage others from taking this course, as the professor never makes it clear what he is looking for on the midterm, or the final paper. Watched a lot of movies so lecture was fine but overall this was a useless course.

This was an interesting class, just a little slow at times. There's no slides or anything, just him throwing history facts at you for 75 minutes. The exam was tough to prepare for, but easy overall. The final is a paper and you can write on whatever topic you want. Good class to take!

Prof. Tolczyk is extremely knowledgeable on the topic. The class is pretty easy, just come to class and watch the movies, read the assigned books, take notes during discussion, and study for the exams.
