Class is not at all difficult if you have a good math foundation. If not, just stay on top of the work and do the problem sets and you will be fine. Try your best to understand what you read before you move on to another topic as the material builds on itself

Freeman is much better in his office hours than in lecture, and I would recommend going to office hours often because he remembers the students who do. Extra points can be added if you answer all the i clicker questions. Exams are hard but you get a note sheet and there are practice exams on collab. He really wants students to do well. I'd definitely recommending taking this class with him since it's required for the major.
Awful. Freeman lectures SO slowly and the material doesn't get across well.
One of the worst classes you will ever take, but I doubt that will help you since if you're reading reviews about this class, you were already smart enough to decide against taking it or you have to because it's required.
If you have to take this class, try to get the later section unless you're a morning person. Go to every class and copy down everything he says, even if half the time you don't know what he's talking about and he explains it wrong (which he has done many times).
The collab resources are WORTHLESS. Do not look for any help from the powerpoints he posts, They lack basically all the info you actually need for the exams and are not the same as the one he uses in class. Just write everything down!
Lab was easy, not a big deal.
My least fond memory of UVA. 8am class, combined with annoying Lab section with annoying assignments. Exams which test the most ridiculous things, not the important concepts. OH, AND iCLICKERS. WTF. Better not be sick, ever.
Please, for your sake, avoid this class.
Not recommended if you don't need this for your major. Exams do require a decent amount of studying, and Freeman does test your conceptual understanding of statistics on the exams. However, he is very friendly and is happy to provide a lot of help during his office hours/any time that he is in his office. Pappas was a great TA and gave a lot of help in the lab section; he was also very understanding of homework assignments and responded very quickly to e-mails. You'll do fine if you study, but it's definitely not an easy class.
Freeman's lectures are difficult to follow. Avoid if not required for your major.
I hope you already know stats.
Without a doubt the worst professor I've had at this school. This class is essentially very basic statistics (STAT 212) with PSYC 101 elements thrown in, so the material itself isn't challenging at all. The problem is that Freeman manages to make the class extremely boring and tiresome. He lectures at a slow pace and explains even the most basic statistical concepts very poorly. Tests aren't hard at all if you can put in the effort to take good detailed notes. But unless you are one of the many big nerds who will giggle at his pointless "Tales From The Class" and his "goofy" teaching style you will hate Freeman. Take this class with someone else if you can.
Not too hard if you're a psyc major
