This course is really what you make of it. Being Polish, Tolczyk is a great source about not just the language but geography, culture, and interesting little things about the country and its people. If you want to learn about Poland and make an effort to ask questions, you end up with some pretty fun conversations and a very relaxed setting. The class does generally follow a textbook throughout the semester, but each individual lesson is more a product of what the students want to know or focus on learning. If you generally show up to class, you can expect an A. If you can barely speak any Polish but have a decent attitude, you can expect an A.
Interesting course, great professor, zero stress -- highly recommend.
