I took Conservative Political Thought with Koganzon the first semester she taught it. It was awesome! She is really excellent at leading class discussions, because she asks questions about the texts that solicit student answers that lead into her clarifying things we don't understand. I remained very engaged for the 2.5 hour class periods. Final paper was a huge part of the grade (50%) so make sure you work hard on that. Otherwise, there were response papers on readings you had to do five times, participation, and a final exam with a couple short answer questions and one "long" essay. I highly suggest reading the texts slowly and taking notes to be really prepared for discussions. You can't get by with skimming. The material was great-- we started with Burke and made it to present-day American conservatism.
