This class requires a TON of reading, but most of it is really interesting - articles and essays that you probably wouldn't have given a second thought otherwise. You only have to write two papers the entire semester, so if you get thoes done early in the semester all you have to worry about is the readings and unannounced quizes. Rhodes is a pretty hard grader tho, so look out. Overall, hes a pretty decent professor, but hes deffinitely an anti-feminist, and hes not great at leading discussion. For example, he will spend an hour of our 2.5 hour class talking about one topic with only 5 people participating rather than trying to move quickly through the readings to encourage more people to participate. (Keep in mind, you're graded on participation). He also does most of the talking in that class, which is sometimes difficult given that it is discussion-based rather than lecture based.
