Democracy Out Load -- Professor Cary is one of my favorite professors at UVA. She is relaxed, easy to talk to, understand, and very knowledgeable. I recommend her as a professor, regardless of class, to all my friends. I enjoyed doing all the readings and learned a lot throughout the semester. She splits us into groups of 5 and we make slideshows about certain speeches, giving backgrounds, context, analysis of the speech, consequences, and more. You learn a lot about some of the greatest moments in history and the speeches associated with them. The class isn't very hard. You don't have to do the readings to get by, but it's obvious in discussions whether you've done them or not. The work was manageable, content interesting, and the professor is amazing. I would highly recommend going to whatever event she holds at her house -- you get great food and get to meet her husband, who is also a really cool guy. The quizzes are also easy (if you pay attention and do the readings). 10/10, my favorite class this semester.
