Best teacher ever!!! Pam is so nice and patient. though the class is time consuming and expensive, it's definitely worth it.

Pam is the most wonderful professor I've had at UVa. Her photography is extremely interesting, and it is a privilege to get to be taught by her! She expects a lot, but you will come out of the class with a rock solid set of basic photography skills. Even if you do not continue with photography, this is a worthwhile class (although Photo 2, color photography is definitely worth taking as well!)
Pam has a soft spot for students who seems hard-working and is interested in art history.
Pam is amazing. Her input is always helpful. The darkroom is incredibly time consuming. When I took this class it was by far the class that I did the most work in, but it was worth it.
Pam is amazing. Like all art classes, her class is a lot of work but she gives good input and is always available to help.
One of the most amazing classes I have ever taken at UVA. Since it's an art class, it does require a significant amount of time, but the time flies by because the subject is interesting. Though i do wish Pam might have taught us more interesting techniques when it came to developing and taking pictures.
Awesome class but very hard!!!
This is one of the most time-consuming, yet rewarding studio art classes at UVa. Pam is extremely knowledgeable and demanding, but doesn't restrict the direction/style of any student's work. If you dedicate the time, you will make beautiful photographs.
Very enjoyable class if you're into photography. Pecchio is great, but be prepared to spend +$300 on supplies (film, chemicals, matboard, etc). Making prints and developing film aren't difficult tasks, but they are very time consuming. Prepare to spend at least 5 hours in the darkroom per week. But- it's very rewarding and the class periods themselves are very enjoyable.
you need to spend at least $400
the class takes A LOT OF time at the darkroom
