Professor Capps is quite eccentric but really gets you to move out of your comfort zone with new media and techniques of drawing. I found myself bored during the first half of the semester because, as a mandatory intro class, she slows to the pace of the students with no prior drawing experience. Basic drawing concepts are always valuable, however.

Don't take this class as your "easy" class. It requires a lot of hours outside of class and in the studio, which can be a pain. Also, grading is completely arbitrary.

I would NOT suggest taking this class with Capps. I found her to be extremely unhelpful and rude at times.

Required at least 5 hrs in studio per week..kind of heavy workload...Professor Capps is nice but strict with attendance

You're supposed to do 5 hrs but if you show up w a decent amount of work she's satisfied. If you do the work you won't leave with anything lower than a B+. Majority of students got A- to an A. Easygoing on attendance and very chill during class (like u can leave to get food and come back). Totally recommend taking it with her, you definitely need to put work outside of class but just as much or less than any other class you're taking. You also will definitely improve your drawing skills.
