Prof Bychkov changed how he teaches the course, and it is MUCH more doable now. The group lab reports that everyone harps about no longer exist, so you only have to do some sort of prelab, in-lab assignments (which is literally just a capstone submission), and some sort of post-lab assignment. Sometimes Webassign has challenging questions or is picky with sigfigs, but you get multiple attempts per question, so if you're stuck just communicate with your group members and go to a good TA's office hours. As someone who is a non-physics STEM major and has taken many lab courses, this course is the amount of work I would expect form a 1 credit hour course. I'm pretty sure the lowest grade someone had in my cohort was an 88, and the class average was a high A.
TL;DR, the course is easier now, so still put in effort but don't worry about it. Plus, Prof Bychkov made the same change to every one of his lab courses, so unless anything changes again, if you're doing the engineering version or physics 2 labs, you also don't need to worry.
