Brewer painstakingly elucidates the arguments of many of the best known ethical philosophers. He knows the material extremely well. You need to keep up with the considerable amount of reading in this course, but if you do so, the course isn't hard.

Talbot Brewer is a brilliant professor!!! He has really nice and clear outline for each class. His points on Aristotle is especially illuminating and sharp. And he explains Plato, Hume, and Kant with great subtlety. Also he really cares about students and asks what we do think about xx or what questions do we have each class.
