Prof. Gertler is a wonderful person and is clearly an expert on the material. The concepts are just hard to grasp sometimes, especially if you don't do the reading. Philosophy is a tough subject, and the mind is not an easy topic to discuss.

Brie Gertler is an amazing professor! For a nonphilosophy major, she made the material easy to understand and fun to learn. The reading was light and not too difficult. She makes handouts that break down the readings and help make them more understandable. I recommend to philosopher majors, Cog Sci majors, and everyone else!

Brie Gertler is a phenomenal lecturer. She is extremely engaging and makes the material very interesting. The readings are very reasonable in length and volume, and she gives great feedback on each written assignment. She is very approachable in office hours as well, and as a non-Philosophy major I found her to be very effective at making each lecture relatable and understandable. I would highly recommend this class!

Gertler is a fabulous teacher for such a difficult topic. She entertains any questions or comments and really tries to help her students understand each reading. She takes the time to go through all the material and gives a guide for each reading during the lecture, which is very helpful!

Personally loved this class. Gertler does a great job in keeping the lectures lively and interesting, very personal and welcoming during OH--more like a seminar since the students chime in--consists of 3 short 300 word papers, 1 5-6pg paper and 1 6-8 pg paper and a short essay final. Readings were short and class was based on the readings. Topic was interesting and not too difficult to understand. Def Recommended for cog sci majors to fulfill philosophy req.
