Ian McCready-Flora's first semester at UVa. showed a lot of energy. He's a young, well-regarded scholar of Plato and Aristotle, and draws from a huge pool of knowledge with regards to history and scholarship of the two philosophers. He makes the class what it is. Reading is short but dense, and constant. The texts are hugely influential in Western thought and are AMAZING in their own right. The grade is based on three 1500 word papers, but they must convey a deep analytical perspective. He's a hard grader, but fair, and will respect your opinions. Very, very interesting, and not impossible (took this first year, first semester).
