Take this class! I am not a philosophy person and was very intimidated coming into the class, but Prof. Adams taught in a very engaging and approachable way so that I was able to understand the concepts and didn't feel condescended to or lost. I liked that he gave us opportunities to practice using what we learned to think about practical problems through in person/Collab discussions because that helped me understand the material much better. He also gave some extra credit opportunities through small essays and the tests were take home essays too. I thought that the structure of the class worked very well for me to learn beginner level philosophy and that he really helped me understand how to think philosophically. Adams is also a very funny guy and I never skipped a lecture because they were fun to listen to. He is much more approachable than a lot of other professors I've had, so definitely go and talk to him in office hours or after class!
