Super easy class. Not sure if that's because of the switch to online for COVID learning, but it was a TuThur class and we only had to read and do some exercises every week by Tuesday's class time, watched a couple of pre-recorded lecture videos totaling not more than 20 minutes, then synchronous class on Thursdays when we would go over concepts and do more practice in groups. Very doable class though the material wasn't incredibly interesting.
Chill professor, pretty easy course, as the 1000 level might indicate. Not the most enlightening (you'll be familiar with some of the basic concepts, like "disjunction" (which is just P or Q is true if either is true) and stuff, but does delve into new ways of thinking of things. For example, what purposes do "definitions" serve? There's stipulative, which says that a word means something, but there's also persuasive which is more of a rhetorical device ("the Soviet Union is an evil empire")
I actually really enjoyed this class. I thought that it was very helpful to actually go to class because the content from the short readings were hard to understand at times. The exams were nothing like the practice questions that we did for homework but Darcy does a great job of making a study guide that reflects what is going to be on the exam. Professor Darcy is a professor where you can really tell that he cares about his students and he made sure to know all of our names ever since the first day of school. If you take this class, be ready to answer questions about the practice questions. There is a good amount of group work. None of the readings or other work was required but it is very helpful to do because it is somewhat hard to understand at first.
