Definitely one of the best classes I've taken here. Great introduction to Music Theory! At first, I was intimidated because I have never done theory before. I could only read music and play a few instruments. The first few weeks was a bit fast for me (scales, intervals, chords, harmonies...), but it dies down a lot over the course of the semester. The class goes over a new topic each class, but it's really not a big deal. Stephanie is an awesome down to earth person who is extremely knowledgeable. We would listen to music every class and I really started to get a feel for all the theory I was missing out on. Tests were very straight forward. Homework was straight forward as well and you could correct it for up to 92%. I would highly recommend taking this class with Doctor Doktor. You won't regret it. If you put in the work (yo. it's only like 1-3 hours per week), you'll finish with an A.
I believe Stephanie will be leaving after this semester...so speaking of the class in general: I would recommend this class to any casual musician who would like to learn more about the theory behind what they're playing. I'm not a music major and I don't ever plan on pursuing music professionally... but this class really opened my eyes.
