It's ridiculous because since this class is a requirement everyone and their mother is trying to take it which means the people in it are always 3rd/4th years and the content is stupidly easy. Really superficial overview of inventions like the printing press etc. The actual class only scratches the surface of the readings, but you need to know them for the exam. Aniko is a nice woman but man was this class boring. Pretty easy to do well though.

Aniko is an exert when it comes to history- take the class with her if you can because she really knows her stuff. Very engaging and very important to know for your general knowledge and the major itself. If you work hard/pay attention (take good notes in class) the class isn't hard (students often complain- I got a solid A). Just do the readings and know the arguments, and exams should be just fine. #tcf2016

This class is pretty straightforward - not the most fascinating class you'll ever take as a lecture but if you do the readings you should do fine on the quizzes and midterms. There are two short papers, a midterm and a final so there are a lot of components of your grade which is nice. Take advantage of the reading guides and study for the tests and you'll be fine. #tcf2016

She is not the most engaging lecturer, but she is straightforward with the material on tests etc. Not too bad as long as you do the reading and pay attention. ‪#‎tcf2016‬

The structure of the course changed because of the number of students in the department. We were about 100. You have one midterm and 1 final, 1 short paper (5 pages approximately), quizzes every week on the readings (lowest one dropped), and in class group work. The exams are hard. They consist in 1 long essay, and 4-5 short essays. You have to know everything and you have to do the readings to follow along. The grading for exams is fair, expect for attendance and group work. Although many students had been to every lecture, she only gave a 95 instead of 100 (which goes a long way), and the group work grade was completely subjective. No one got above a 91 and she hadn't spent enough time with each group to give a fair grade. This course requires time commitment due to heavy work load. She can be disorganized but she does try to help students with the dense readings by providing a reading guide. It helps enormously. Topics are interesting but the lectures can be boring...

Very disorganized teacher that struggles to lead group discussion but it is a fairly easy class if you keep up with the readings. it is also pretty interesting if you give it a chance
