Most people take this class out of requirement. The course grades consists of 5 quizzes. For each quiz you are allowed to bring your homework that is ungraded. Each quiz you are able to do corrections for later. The quizzes are very difficult, usually a change of numbers from the homework and a lot of conceptual difficult true and false questions. Office hours generally help to finish the homework. Melcher is a good professor for the difficulty of the course. She does mess up her notation often which can make class confusing. She is not trying to give everyone a bad grade though.
