Jinbo is basically incapable of teaching students calculus, so do not take his class at all. He speaks in a very formal manner and does not explain anything that he teaches. His office hours are very unhelpful and when I went to them he made me feel stupid for not understanding some of the concepts and would not explain anything unless I specifically asked him about each and every step; he also proceeded during this time to talk to the other student next to me in mandarin the whole time and laugh, which made me feel like he was making fun of me. His grading is very harsh and has taken many, many points off of my tests and quizzes for work even when it was all totally correct, and then he would refuse to give me any credit back for it (he even admitted that the answers were correct). He left for a week of lectures and then on the following quiz took of points when I did things a different way than he did them, even though that is how I was taught to do it by another professor. None of the homeworks reflect how hard the tests are and he gives quizzes at random times (once was on the last day of the reading days when everyone was traveling home and had it due the next day). Jinbo does not have much common sense in the way of social skills and is not a good professor.

He said that we will limit what we study to R3........and then he gave us a R4 question in the next quiz.......hahahahaha. Of course I dont know how to do it and start writing this review. He is teaching OK and I think I understand what he is doing except for his assignments. They are like HELL.

Jinbo was a very bad lecturer, and the only way that I learned anything was if I taught myself. His assignments are extremely hard to complete and nothing like what we do in class or in homework. Everybody fails his tests and he thinks thats ok because he curves them. He is a very smart guy but should never teach a class again.
