As far as I'm aware, Matt isn't teaching this class anymore, so I hope you're reading this Matt! 1320 is a really hard class. Like genuienly difficult. There is a lot of work and you have to do all of it. It'll often make zero sense. UVA offers a lot of support for math, so really take advantage of it. However, Matt is one of the nicest, most understanding teachers I've met. He teaches math pretty well and is entertaining in his own special Matt way. All the 1320 lecturers get to design their own quizzes, and Matt's are some of the easiest. This makes the class far less stressful. I'm really sad Matt is leaving (if that is true), but I hope he has a great time in whatever life brings him in the future!

Professor McCarthy was a GREAT professor. He really tried to connect with his students if anyone was struggling with the material, he made everyone feel welcome to ask questions, and he went beyond teaching the content by showing us his own demos he created. Though the content could be hard at times, especially with starting sequences and series, it was nothing too too challenging and with some effort it's easy to get a good grade. There are a lot of webassigns, a few written homeworks, a quiz each week, and 3 exams. I would definitely recommend this professor and this class.
