If you can, take this course with anyone else! For starters, he uses the free trial of some screenshare program which has pop-ups approximately every 5 minutes covering his notes, and he relies on students interrupting lecture to tell him to close them. Mark is also extremely unaccommodating and frankly rude in how he handles questions about both content and extensions. He takes about three to four days to respond to emails on average, and most of the time he keeps his responses very brief and vague. The only grades he posts on his gradebook are exam scores, and the rest of the grades are not accessible to students, even if you email him (he didn’t even bother to respond to my email about my final grade)! Overall, I do not recommend taking MATH 1310 with him to anyone, as although I ended up doing pretty well in his class, he single-handedly managed to ruin my calculus experience at UVA and is the reason I will not be continuing on to MATH 1320 next semester. #tCF2020
