I loved Brian! I had the weird emo guy for Applied Calc 1 and as a result hated it. Brian was really good about having his material organized and grading things fairly. If you have to take Applied Calc 2(which is in itself not the most fun) take it with Brian.

Brian Thomas is an awesome TA! Calc 2 is just the worst. Its a super hard class, and the exams tend to have confusing questions and low averages. However, Brian was really good at explaining things and his quizzes were always very fair. I really appreciated the group classwork we did once a week because when we got to more difficult sections, it was nice to know that I wasn't the only one struggling with it. And if other people in the class didn't seem to think things were hard, I would know to spend more time on those chapters. The webassigns were pretty difficult for some chapters but they do prepare you for exams, so make sure you do all of them (they're easy points that you should take advantage of). I would also recommend starting the practice exams as soon as they are posted because its really important that you get through all of them before taking the midterms/final so you know what to expect. The practice exams were especially helpful before the final because I was having a rough time with Taylor Series at the end of the semester (like everyone lol) and I spent a long time going over examples in the textbook and online. The night before the final I did all the taylor series questions on the practice finals to make sure I knew how to do them. Then, the actual final ended up having a ton of those kind of questions so I got really lucky, Overall, this class can be super challenging at times but Brian was super approachable and really wanted all of us to do well.
