Joe is super helpful during office hours, extremely kind, and very excited to help you learn. He may not be the greatest lecturer and sometimes his class is difficult to follow, but he is extremely willing to answer questions and even come in during his out-of-office times to sit down and answer all of your questions. Definitely recommend Joe out of all of the grad applied calc teachers.

From the very first class, Professor Eisner makes it clear that he does not believe many students will succeed in his class. Most lectures consisted of him going on tangents on material we did not need to know, and it appeared that this was done with the intention of proving his superior intelligence. I never felt very comfortable asking questions or seeking help during office hours. Students who did well in this class mostly succeeded because of having taken calculus in high school. I was able to get through the class by teaching the material to myself by reading the book or watching videos online. If math is not your strong suit and you genuinely want to learn, I would not recommend Professor Eisner.
