This is the worst class I have ever taken. Mr. Weaver does a horrible job at explaining concepts. It is extremely boring, and there is no point in going to class because you will not learn one thing. If anything, going to class will make you more confused than if you didn't go at all.

Mr. Weaver isn't a great teacher. I'm sure he's just TAing becuase he has to for grad school. He rushes through concepts on the board, mumbling, and his handwriting is barely legible. Also he grades extremely harshly, but that doesn't make much of a difference as your course grade takes that into account. That being said, the course itself is really quite easy. I recommend buying the physical book because it basically walks you through how to do the problems. I stopped going to class after about 3 weeks except to take quizzes. Going is pointless if you can just learn from the book. If you can't then get a tutor because Weaver isn't going to be much help there. For the 2 midterms I literally looked at the material for the first time the night before the test and got 20 pts above the average on both. Same thing for the final, but that was cumulative. The curve was a lot lower than I was expecting. Overall this is not a hard course if you pick up concepts quickly/can teach yourself. If you can't do either then pick a different TA. Also you can't use a calculator at all in the course which sucks.
Would definitely not recommend taking this course with Weaver. He's a horrible lecturer and you will have a lot of issues on the homework and exams if you haven't taken some sort of calculus class before.
