I'm actually doing really well in this class, but ONLY bc I took AP calc in high school. Pollio's a nice guy but not a good teacher. He reads his notes straight from the book so that sucks if you aren't a math person. (I know I never understood math theories in words- I always needed examples) Also I can't tell you how much useless information he teaches. It would be VERY difficult to pick out the basic concepts if not already learned it last year. Bottom line- if you have a background in calc- this class is an easy A. If you haven't, I wouldn't suggest it.

I had to withdraw from this classs halfwya through. It's taught like a review course and since I had zero backround in calculus I found it impossible. Timothy is very smart and a nice guy, but he cannot explain things in simple terms that a non-math person would understandThe only assignments (other than exams) were webassign and were "the bare minimum" of what we should be able to do. If you have to take it and aren't a math person, get someone else and save your self the frustration.
Worst TA imaginable...tough grader and can't teach at all. His lectures are scattered all over the place with sometimes useless information. If you have to take this class, take it with another TA for sure. Don't waste your time.
Polillo was a nice guy but painfully literal in how he followed the rules. He was the only GA not to curve the grades for calc 1210 when i took it. not too difficult of a class especially if you took some calc in high school.
