I absolutely love Latin, but i loved it even more having Mr. Zawie. He is super nice and at most times understanding, but he makes sure to draw the line between teacher and student so that he isn't taken advantage of. There is a good amount of reading because this is a translation based course, and when translating try to be as literal as possible so when you volunteer in class its clear you know the functions of the verbs/nouns/grammar etc. However Zawie always re-translates what you say (so for all those confused he'll provide you with the answer). You're not allowed to write the translation down (but taking notes on phrases and grammar is allowed) on the other hand no one will really know if you do or don't. I highly recommend this class. I came in as a first year taking latin 2010, but if this is too high a level, Zawie apparently teaches the lower 1010 courses too!
