Professor Cesaretti is a genius, through and through. He knows what he's talking about; he'll teach it to you.
However, if you don't have a strong interest in Renaissance poetry [not literature in general], this might not be the class for you. It is completely lecture based; 95% of the time he's the only one talking. And, if you're not truly interested in how Renaissance poets viewed the world, how they wrote, etc., you're going to be awfully bored.
At the end of the day, he's not the harshest grader in the world, he's incredibly smart, and his Italian is crystal clear.
