Overall, Professor Murphy is an outstanding teacher who cares about all of his students. He makes sure to remember the names of each person and is always willing to help students during office hours. The format of the class is pretty standard: There is reading to do before each class, and once a week, there is a quiz to be taken. The class prep assignments are graded on effort, and the quizzes are for a grade, with the lowest one dropped. There is a cumulative final exam, which ends up being a lot of content to cover. Professor Murphy keeps the class as a device-free zone, which people tend to dislike at first but end up liking in the end. It helps keep you from distractions and helps you learn the content. Some issues would be with the lectures and their setup. The lecture notes didn't have a lot of information on them, making information recall difficult. It was also very unlikely you would cover all of the slides in class. One way Professor Murphy made up for this was by making videos talking through the last couple of slides he missed, as well as some practice problems. Overall, Professor Murphy was a great teacher.
