I loved this class. A few of the plays were pretty dry, but they always got more interesting when we discussed them in class. The class was primarily discussion-based, which I enjoyed because it allowed the students to explore the topics that were most interesting to us, with Parker serving as a moderator. However, there's no participation grade - just two medium-length papers and two exams, both of which are passage identification and context. The exams are easy if you pay attention in class and do the readings. We usually read one play per week, so the only regular homework was reading over the weekend. Professor Parker made this class so fun and was always so helpful in office hours. If you're interested in drama, or just want to explore something new, take this class!
