Fun class! Instructions were a bit difficult to follow, but it was fun overall. You have two social dances that you have to go to during the semester, but you mostly go with people from the class, highly recommended to enroll with all of your friends so you can dance with them!

The ballroom class is actually taught by Sam Umbaugh but is under Abby Fines' name. The class is a fun break from academics during the day. Sam spends 3 classes teaching each of the six core dances (waltz, rhumba, cha cha, foxtrot, tango, and swing), then moves on to any other dances the class is interested in. We ended up doing a little bit of quickstep and viennese waltz too. It's totally cool if you don't have any dance experience! Sam goes through all the basics and will help you through it. Sam has the tendency to get off on long tangents that can be boring when you just want to dance, but it's an easy class to diversify your transcripts. You have to go social dancing in Charlottesville twice during the semester, but it ended up being so much fun! I got to know the other people in the class and we still go out dancing.
