This is a great course that explores the Rule of Law across an entire milenium ranging from law in medieval China to law following the aftermath of the second world war. The course also satisfies general education requirement (Cultures, Societies of the World) and is not very demanding. The class does not have any midterm exams and instead there are 2 essays (each worth 17.5%) you have to write and 2 essays to write as part of the final exam (40%). The grading can be a bit harsh by the TAs but provided you can provide them meaningful analysis and evidence to back up your points you are bound to get a good grade. Not to mention that participation is 25% of your overall grade. Definitely recommend this course if you are interested in law or are trying to satisfy requirements.
