This class is wonderful! The general assignment is a campaign/project about a social issue of your/your group's choosing. There are weekly readings and reflections as well that make up pretty much the remainder of the grade. My group created a club and is making real change in the community and I'm so excited about it. Half the class was taught by Prof Edmunds and half by Dyanna Jaye, a former UVA student who was part of the Sunrise Movement that advocated for the Green New Deal. She is the coolest. Dyanna taught us a lot about the history of social movements and what components make up a successful movement. We used these strategies in our group project. David teaches the rest of the class and he is wonderful but extremely unorganized which makes for a stressful end of the semester. However, this wasn't a hard class by any means and I feel like I gained so much from this experience. Easy A but don't just take it to slack off (2 people in our group were useless tbh and clearly only took this class for the A. Don't be that person. Please.) Take this class if you want to make a difference!
