This is one of the best courses I've taken at UVA. I took Climate, You, and CO2 from Professor Lawrence a couple of years ago, and this was the perfect follow-up to that course. The three professors (Lawrence, Freedman, Cushman) combined to make the course engaging, and I found myself thinking about the topics we discussed in class even when school was far from my mind. The readings were all super relevant to discussion, and discussion was easy as long as you did the reading. The final project, which was an individual research paper on a part of the UVA sustainability plan, felt a little disorganized. There was a lot of confusion among the class about our presentations and when things were due, so I'd say that if you take the class, make sure to ask questions and figure out when things are due because the professors won't always send reminders. I would totally recommend this course, it is so relevant to any major and I think that a class like this should be required in curriculum requirements.
