She's amazing! Super knowlegable about the subject and the class seminars are fun to listen in on and participate in! Quizzes are easy and so is the paper if you pay attention. Occasionally we have some slow days where she's just lecturing, but everything else is fun!

Professor Kinney's classes can be a bit of a roller coaster from time to time but, in the end, she really treats you like an adult. There's never busy work and your grade is determined by your willingness to speak up and share your opinion. In this particular class, we covered women's social issues in early China, while included some pretty difficult and explicit topics, such as suicide, sexuality, and infanticide. The class discussions were very rarely boring. The readings were all of manageable length, and homework consisted of brief reflections. There were a couple tests and an essay. The biggest issue with this class is the inconsistency between syllabus, email, and word of mouth, especially in relation to tests.
