Lots of reading. Way more than expected. Grades fairly well and is willing to discuss grades. Overall pretty hard class.

Although I hated the vast amount of reading required for this class, it lessened as the semester went on. I also learned very in-depth details regarding WWII and post WWII Japan, especially regarding the America's decision to use the atomic bombs. Stolz is an ok teacher -- he knows his stuff, but class is painful. Also, he is hard to get in touch with if you need to contact him. He is pretty relaxed, but there are a couple writing assignments and quizzes and a project during the semester. This class has made my analysis of history very different from how I used to analyze it, and showed me things that not many Americans know regarding Japan. Also, the 2 out of 3 requirements that the class satisfies is nice, but it was 80% of the reason I didn't drop the class.
