I overall really enjoyed this class. There were writing assignments each week that was very simple and straightforward. The readings were hefty but you can easily skim over them and get a decent idea of what the author was saying. The exams were based on a lot of memorization but if you go to class and have an idea of what the readings were saying, you are fine. A big portion of the grade is participation, so make sure to speak up in class. Bonnie Hagerman is an excellent professor and is always willing to help, especially with the research essay.
