This class was incredibly average. Prof Petrus is somewhat eccentric, but he has the knowledge. My main gripe with this class is there wasn't much direction. The class has a really diverse set of students enrolled in it, so by trying to cater to all of us, the true purpose of the class felt lost. At times we were learning about design, public policy, or finance but never really grasped any of it. I walked away feeling like I hadn't actually learned anything. The main benefit of this course is there is a half semester-long project where you come up with a development proposal. I felt like professor Petrus was really supportive in how we wanted to approach the project and was really meaning to help and provide resources. I think the project went well and provided me with something I can talk about during interviews and gave me some baseline experiences. However, as an undergrad, I felt like there were a lot of real-estate adjacent courses I could've taken and this was one of the least worthwhile.
