This course was great. Richard Walker provided good information on how to utilize GIS. The class was well paced and Walker quickly responded to emails. The course lectures on Wednesday were informative despite a late start time. The class is small and attendance is a major component. The midterm takes place during class before spring break. If you complete the weekly lab assignments the midterm should be very easy. The lab assignments are often enjoyable but should not be left until the last minute. Walker is a fair grader and is understanding if you have technical difficulties. The semester concludes with a personal project. You get to do essentially whatever you want for the final project. And in order to ensure you do not wait until the last minute, Walker has you turn it in in phases. In my opinion this class is a must for any student majoring or minoring in planning.
