Do not take this class, or any class, offered by Professor Wall. The workload, even for an English class, is insane. If you do not think you can read 200-300 pages every two or three days, do not take this class. One of the books she has you read is 1000 pages, which you are supposed to finish in three weeks. I have never in my time at UVa experienced such subjective, unhelpful grading on the paper and exam. The exams also have "creative" sections with no real right or wrong answers that she will cut points from with no explanation. Class discussions were awkward and she had clear favorites in the class. I dreaded going to this class every week. You have to do one-page commentaries every week and many times she will specify what she wants you to write about only one day in advance. There are many more classes to take that will fulfill the requirement, so don't waste your time
